You might have noticed we haven’t posted a whole lot on the blog recently. To be honest, we have been very swamped with wedding season coming to an end and all the seniors and babies we been photographing each week has really been adding to the work load. We even hired part time help to allow us to catch up. So, to simplify things and keep you updated we are going to start putting all posts on our Facebook Page. Make sure you add Giraffe Photography to your friends list and become a Fan of our page!
Giraffes Need a Break, Too!
We at Giraffe Photography are taking some time off. It’s our seventh anniversary. Just in case your counting we were married when we were 19 years old. We are going to Door County in Wisconsin. The area is known for its beautiful fall foliage, so we will have cameras in tote. Among the types of photos we do, we love taking pictures of landscapes and nature. We’ll post some of those photos on the Blog when we return.

Emily – Budding Actress
Emily has been in several High School productions. You can see by the smile on her face she loves it!

Very photogenic. Always ready with a smile.

Emily had stage fright at first but not for long, who knows where her future may take her.

Welcome Marley!
Two Bright Blue Eyes:
To see what the future brings, the rainbow of a rising sun,
a bird flying on its wings.

Could she be a future Gap model?

Zane’s Sweet Ride
You would smile too if you had a ride like this.

Look out world I’m taking this baby out!

Wait a minute, Mom forgot to give me the keys!

Look Who’s Engaged – Aaron and Katie
Looking forward to the years ahead.

What a cute couple! Easy to work with.
Senior on Location
Down on the farm with Emily pictured here with her horse Shorty. It’s a good thing they grow hay.
Shots on site are often very peaceful and tranquil.

All smiles and very photogenic.

You’ve Got the Cutest Little Baby Face!
What a precious Maizy face smiling up at me,
with sparkling eyes, a turned-up nose and rosy glowing cheeks!
From satin curls on top to the dimple on your chin,
what a sweet Maizy face, you always make me grin.

What a Little “Girly Girl”
Two Bright, Soulful Eyes
To see the world around me.
Two Perfect Ears
Listening to all the sounds that surround me.
Two Bow-Shaped, Ruby Lips
A tiny tiny smile to light up the world.

Always ready with a smile. This little one is definitely a baby DIVA!

September 5, 2009 – Stephen’s Wedding
Wedding Services were held for Eric and Lisa Paxton at Parkview Lutheran in Parkview, Iowa. The reception was held Eldridge Community Center. We went to the city park for some of the photos. We found a great looking old barn which made an ideal setting for the perfect picture.

September 9, 2009 – Elaine’s Wedding
Congratulations to Jared and Breanna Carr! They tied the knot in Orion United Methodist Church. At that very time Orion was having a fall festival. Going with the flow they decided to take some pictures at the festival. Later they had their reception at The Rock. Just a note, Breanna ’s sister got married last year and we at Giraffe Photography were more than happy to take those pictures.

August 29, 2009 – Stephen’s Wedding
After seeing Beth, her sister’s, wedding pictures that we did last year, there was no doubt in her mind who would photograph Heather’s. Douglas and Heather Hanell were married at the Augustana Chapel in Davenport. They held their reception at the Abby Station. Here are a few pics.

August 29, 2009 – Elaine’s Wedding
Jeff and Naomi Jones were married at Rivermont Collegiate located in Bettendorf, Iowa. Rivermont Collegiate is a beautiful historical mansion. Jeff and Naomi were a fun and easy to work with couple. Here are a couple of my favorites.

Carson Turns One!

That look of surprise, that special smile…look who’s turned ONE! Such a big accomplishment for someone so small – but look out world here I come!!!

Meet Sebastian & Natalie Escobar. Their wedding and reception were held at the Radisson in downtown Davenport. Super convenient for us photographers, as we don’t have to travel far to get great photo ops.
