August 2, 2008 – Elaine’s Wedding
Meet Bryan & Tara Foit. They were married in Davenport with the reception being in Maquoketa (did I spell that right..) at the Old Costello’s Mill. Such a beautiful location for weddings or receptions. If you want something different, check it out. Here are some of Elaine’s favorites from the wedding day.
July 21, 2008 – Monday Wedding
A wedding on Monday, do people get married on Monday’s? Yes, they do. And here’s why.
Meet Matthew and Gleice Gillet. They both work for Ringling Brothers (a.k.a. the circus) and Monday is the only day they had off. Gleice is a performer and Matthew is a lighting effects manager. Part of Gleice’s circus act involves riding on a motorcycle on a high wire. Now, that takes guts! There wedding day was the same week that the Quad Cities had the largest power outage in history. Their reception was at Lavender Crest in Colona, and man was it WINDY! But we made it happen and the photos were awesome.
July 19, 2008 Wedding
Meet Eric & Kathryn Timmons. They met while Kathryn was living in Ireland and decided to get married in Annawan, Illinois. Their reception followed at Stoney Creek in Moline. We had a lot of fun, and it was really cool to meet so many people from so many different parts of the world. Here are some of my favorites from the big day.
Giraffe The Dress (a.k.a. Trash The Dress)
Jay & Kelsey used our services on July 4th for their wedding. When I told them about doing a Trash the Dress photo shoot they were super excited. At Giraffe Photography, we don’t fully trash the dress. In fact, when we were finished taking photos, the dress was no dirtier than when we started. See for yourself!
I even got out my scooters for them to ride!
And we finished with a bang!
If any of our current brides are interested in doing a Giraffe The Dress, please call our studio for details.
Scootering In The City
As many of our clients know, Elaine & I love to go scootering. In fact, we scooter to our office, the bank, or even if we just need a bag or two from the grocery store, we scooter there. When you get 120+ miles for one gallon of gas, it’s hard not to scooter more. So, when we went up to Chicago the end of July to visit my brother, it just made sense to bring our scooters with. In case your wondering, no we did not drive them there, we ended up renting a big cargo van and putting them in there. My brother also has a scooter, so we had fun driving all over. You think it’s crazy driving in a car in Chicago, try a scooter. Also, add 3 foot potholes, crazy taxi drivers, and people that don’t wait at crosswalks.
Really Cool Night Scenes I photographed.
